We are a group of 8 to 10 who meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at (the new time of ) 2:15 at the Newcastle Building Society’s Community Room.

We discuss the chosen book everyone will have read – either in whole or part – over the previous month.  Books have ranged from popular science, environmental issues, (re)wilding, land use and farming, natural history, historical science to man’s African origin, an ecological novel and a travelogue.  The title of the group gives plenty of scope for choice!

Mostly the books chosen have spawned lively discussion, which may not always have stayed on the subject.

To keep costs down we choose books that are out in paperback, and can be obtained reasonably cheaply from World of Books, Awesome Books, Oxfam, etc.
