The Wine Group started in September 2024 with an Introduction to Wine Tasting led by Coxon & Coxon. During the year there were various tastings and some socials. Group members have curated interesting wine lists, including East European wines, English wines and wines from New Zealand. We have also learned from the experience of the staff at Majestic wine and Coxon & Coxon. The most unusual session was one experimenting with different glasses and how it affects the taste buds.

The cost of each tasting has been determined by the cost of the wine to buy when led by members, or the charge levied by the business. Numbers are often limited either by the venue or the number of tastings you can get from a bottle, so places are allocated on a first come first served basis. We usually meet on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month, either evening or late afternoon. 

From September 2025, there are plans for more tastings at Coxon & Coxon and at Majestic wine. Members have offered to lead tastings on Latin American wines and comparing French with Australian wines. The Group Contact is always looking for new outside contacts who may lead a tasting and for offers from group members.
